The Labour team re-elected in Caledonian Ward at the May 2026 local elections is Paul Convery, Una O’Halloran and Oliur Rahman.
UNA
Una is Leader of the Council. She was born and raised in south Islington and actively involved in community affairs for 30 years. Before she was elected in 2014, Una worked as a school Teaching Assistant and was a GMB workplace representative. Before becoming Leader in 2024, she served on the Council Executive with lead responsibility for Housing.
OLIUR
Oliur is a council tenant living in the Cally for 30 years with his wife and children. A dedicated community activist for over 20 years helping residents with housing, education, health, employment and citizenship. He is an NHS worker and has served as a school governor and charity chair.
PAUL
Came to Islington in 1979 and lives on Gifford Street with his wife and teenage sons. First elected for Cally in 2006, Paul served on the Council Executive between 2010 and 2016. He now chairs the Council’s Audit & Risk committee; and Islington’s pension committee.
It was just the other day that reading about the Cally Festival in the Tribune I thought I would check out the Cally Labour Councillors website. Glad to see you are up and running again.
