Voters in Caledonian re-elected 3 Labour councillors to represent Caledonian ward on 7th May 2026.

Voters throughout Islington returned a Labour majority in the Town Hall. There are now 32 Labour Party councillors and 19 representing the Green Party. Islington Labour remains a Labour Borough after we secured a fifth consecutive election win since 2010.

In Caledonian ward there were 5 political parties contesting the ward, each nominating 3 candidates. The vote shares by political party were:

Labour Party: 42%
Green Party: 34%
Reform UK: 12%
Liberal Democrats: 6%
Conservative Party: 6%

Following the count Paul Convery said: “We had an energetic and very competitive campaign in Caledonian. Oliur, Una and I thank all Labour Party members and other volunteers who helped secure this result.

“In the elections across London, Labour experienced significant losses so, in Islington, we have significantly bucked a trend. My Cally colleague Cllr Una O’Halloran, Leader of the Council, has reaffirmed that we shall place residents at the centre of everything we do in the next 4 years. We shall improve the Council’s services, build new Council homes, help people into decent well paid jobs, keep our neighbourhoods clean and safe.”
